Why did you choose to come to Exeter?
I chose Exeter because I knew the University quite well due to coming here many times on school trips as the University is very close to my home town. I also wished to attend a campus University, and Exeter has a lovely campus.
Why have you chosen your subject of study?
I chose Law because it fit my A-Level choices (History and English) quite well, and I did not wish to pursue those subjects any further. Additionally, it is a fascinating area of study with good job prospects.
What career aspirations do you have?
I hope to work in the environmental sector, perhaps for a charity, protecting the environment from those who might wish to exploit it. Additionally, I want to work towards greater animal rights, protecting animals from abuse and exploitation in industrial agriculture. It is also a childhood dream of mine to be a writer, so I one day hope to publish a novel.
What will you be doing outside of study?
I am a member of the Law Society, the Creative Writing Society, the Socialist Students Society and the Badminton Club. In my spare time, I plan to read, play games, hang out with friends and go to the gym.
What does receiving this scholarship mean to you and how will it impact on your time at Exeter and beyond?
This scholarship is a fantastic opportunity and I am honoured to have been chosen. I know I can devote greater focus to my studies and enjoy my personal life more as my financial situation is now much more secure.
