Why did you choose to come to Exeter?
I chose the University of Exeter because it was one of only a few universities in the country which offer the specialised course which includes the French Law aspect. Also, it is a Russel Group university and therefore it has a strong reputation, it offers many exciting opportunities as well as having well established links and relationships with industry experts. In addition, I participated in the Exeter Scholars programme for students in the South West which made my journey from college to university life much more accessible and less daunting. Plus the opportunity to study at a leading university in my home region was a bonus.
Why have you chosen your subject of study?
I have always been interested by the subject of law and have always enjoyed learning modern foreign languages. Therefore this course offered me the unique opportunity to combine these two strong passions of mine.
What career aspirations do you have?
I aim to be successful in the field of law, however, I am open to exploring different avenues as they emerge throughout my studies.
What will you be doing outside of study?
I am looking to join the Surf Society to make the most of studying near the coast. Also, I want to join the Dance Society to meet lots of new people with similar interests as me as well as keep fit during my time at Exeter. Last but not least, I aim to join the French society to continue to enhance my language skills.
What does receiving this scholarship mean to you and how will it impact on your time at Exeter and beyond?
Being awarded this scholarship will make a colossal difference throughout my time here at Exeter. It will enable me to buy equipment and resources for my specific educational needs. In addition, it will allow me to participate in extra curricular activities as well as the ability to take up opportunities for overseas trips to improve my language skills.
