Why did you choose to come to Exeter?
I chose Exeter having completed the Exeter scholars programme, as well as visits to the university campus, which were both informative and confirmed that the University was the right choice for me.
Why have you chosen your subject of study?
My A-levels matched up perfectly to my course, and I was drawn to the problem-solving side of mechanical engineering whilst still having the practical elements to get your hands dirty.
What career aspirations do you have?
I aspire to improve my coding skills, becoming fluent in several programming languages, as well as building upon my mathematical skills and problem-solving techniques. I wish to get a job in which my engineering abilities are utilised as much as possible, potentially working in the automotive industry in future.
What will you be doing outside of study?
I have joined the football, tennis, snow sports, and scuba diving societies, in which I will partake in socials and events, as well as trips where offered. I also aim to become a student ambassador, and contribute as much as possible to this amazing university community.
What does receiving this scholarship mean to you and how will it impact on your time at Exeter and beyond?
Being awarded this scholarship means I can fully focus on my studies here at Exeter, without the financial stress which comes with being a university student. It has really helped motivate me to reach my full potential and excel in my classes. Removing the stress of finance has allowed me to thoroughly enjoy my course so far, developing a true passion for engineering which I will carry forward beyond my studies here at Exeter and into my future career as an engineer.
