Profile - Mia Griffiths

Why did you choose to come to Exeter?

I chose to come to the University of Exeter because of the flexibility offered within the MEng Engineering course and the fact that everything was on campus.

Why have you chosen your subject of study?

I chose to study Engineering because I have always loved Maths and the ability to apply it to real-life situations and designs.

What career aspirations do you have?

I would love to work in either Formula 1 or within the Renewable Energy sector but am looking forward to exploring different career options as I progress through the degree programme.

What will you be doing outside of study?

I am part of the swimming club and plan on joining the Women in Engineering, motorsport, and snowsport societies.

What does receiving this scholarship mean to you and how will it impact on your time at Exeter and beyond?

Being selected for this award means a lot as this funding means that I am less likely to need to take paid work alongside my studies, meaning I can focus my time on academic work and also career development opportunities. I also means I can relax in my free time and take advantage of the social opportunities on offer at Exeter.
