Meet the Scholars

“Being awarded a scholarship has humbled me and energized me to my studies ahead, it has taught me that hard work and determination are rewarded and that people care about supporting you and seeing you do well. This is something that I will remember and keep close to my heart for the rest of my life” Sachin Thenparachacko, first year Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery student and Penelope Curtis Scholar

"Without this scholarship, I would not have been able to afford my rent, necessities and books without applying for full-time work. With this scholarship, I will be able to dedicate all of my time and effort into my degree, achieving the best grades I possibly can." Rachael completed the Exeter Scholars Pathways to Law programme, and is now a first year undergraduate studying LLB Law.

"I am very grateful for your donation, it will be such a great help for me while I am at university. It will encourage me to make the most of my time at university and to take every opportunity I am presented with, with less worry of the financial implications. Your award will go a long way to helping me to achieve my ambitions and get to where I want to be in the future in terms of my career." James completed the Exeter Scholars South West pathway, and is now a first year undergraduate studying BSc Biological Sciences with Study Abroad.

"I have had an incredibly fulfilling University experience, but none of this would have been possible without one very generous donor. I am extremely fortunate to have been a recipient of the Tony Allen scholarship. It has meant a huge amount to me to have Tony’s support.'' Amy Ralston – Law graduate, 2017
